Royal School recently hosted the workshop “Positioning the Future - Strategy for Grade 10 & University Admission 2029” to support Grade 9 students and parents in planning their academic pathways before entering High School.
The transition from Secondary to High School marks an important milestone in every student’s learning journey. The choice of subject combinations from Grade 10 not only influences students’ academic performance throughout the three years of High School but also affects future university admission opportunities. The workshop was therefore organised to provide students and parents with essential information and guidance at this important stage.

Early academic planning helps Royal School students prepare proactively for the transition from Secondary to High School.
During the programme, students and parents were introduced to the structure of the 2018 General Education Programme, including how subjects are organised and the key developments in High School education. This helped students gain a clearer understanding of their learning options and develop study plans aligned with their abilities and future goals.

The programme also helped students and parents better understand the structure of the 2018 High School curriculum and the available subject pathways.
In addition, the workshop provided insights into university admission trends for the period 2026-2029, including common admission methods, trends in programme selection and the academic expectations of universities. This information helps students and parents gain a clearer picture of the learning pathway from Grade 10 to university.

These insights into university admission trends support students and parents in shaping a long-term academic pathway.
During the workshop, students also received guidance on selecting subject combinations for Grade 10. This allowed them to identify their strengths, learning interests and potential career directions. Choosing appropriate subject combinations early helps students navigate their studies more effectively and increases their opportunities for admission to their preferred university programmes.

The workshop supports students in selecting subject combinations that align with their abilities and academic goals.
Through the workshop “Positioning the Future - Strategy for Grade 10 & University Admission 2029”, Royal School continues to support Grade 9 students and parents in building clear and appropriate academic plans. The programme helps students confidently enter High School and prepare well for their future learning journey.
