Royal School students take part in experiential learning at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens

The experiential learning activity at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens provided Grade 6 students of Royal School with engaging, meaningful hands-on learning experiences during the final days of the year.

In the role of “young biologists”, Grade 6 students from both the Phu My Hung and Phu Lam campuses had the opportunity to observe the natural world directly, learn about the biological characteristics of various plant and animal species, and explore the relationships between living organisms and their habitats. These experiences broadened students’ understanding, nurtured their love for nature and fostered an early awareness of environmental protection.

In addition to making observations and recording their own reflections, students used the materials collected during the trip to integrate interdisciplinary knowledge, applying concepts from Science, Geography, Language Studies and research skills simultaneously. As a result, they completed high-quality learning reflections that included evaluation, analysis and creative outputs.

Through this experiential learning activity, students not only developed their observation skills, critical thinking and presentation abilities, but also strengthened their teamwork, communication and collaboration skills as they discussed ideas, shared insights and supported one another throughout the learning process.

The trip provided valuable learning opportunities and further strengthened students’ sense of connection with one another.

Royal School provides students with learning opportunities that are closely connected to real-world contexts, enabling them to become more proactive and inspired learners on their journey of discovery.
