To provide students who are preparing to enter Grade 1 with the opportunity to become familiar with the bilingual learning environment at Royal School, the School is organising the “I Am a Primary Student at Royal School” Experience Week.
The programme helps students become familiar with the curriculum, develop essential skills, and build confidence as they prepare to enter Grade 1. As they move from Kindergarten to Grade 1 at Royal School, students continue their journey of learning and discovery in a bilingual environment, supported by a dedicated teaching team and modern facilities. Before officially beginning Grade 1, students are introduced to the programme in advance to build a strong academic foundation and integrate confidently, while continuing their joyful learning journey with friends from Kindergarten. At the same time, the Cambridge programme is maintained continuously from Kindergarten through to Grade 1.

During the Experience Week, students take part in a variety of learning and play-based activities that support the development of thinking skills, creativity, and communication. They learn how to work in teams, solve problems, and integrate into a multicultural international learning environment. Lessons in ESL, Mathematics, Science, and other subjects are designed using modern teaching approaches, enabling students to absorb knowledge in a natural and effective way.

Through ESL classes during the Experience Week, students develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills naturally through engaging, accessible, and creative learning activities. They are introduced to effective teaching approaches that are age-appropriate and easy to understand. Through communicative lessons, students not only learn vocabulary and grammar, but also how to use English in real-life situations, developing responsiveness and critical thinking. These ESL classes provide a strong foundation, enabling students to enter the international bilingual learning environment at Royal School with confidence.
Developing thinking skills and life skills through joyful learning activities
In addition, specialised rooms such as the Science Lab, music room, art room, and sports facilities provide students with opportunities to explore and develop their individual talents. These spaces are equipped with modern resources and designed to support both teaching and learning in open, flexible environments, enabling students to develop holistically.

The Experience Week also includes a wide range of physical activities that help students build fitness and explore the natural environment. Outdoor activities such as running, jumping, football, and movement-based games support the development of physical strength, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. These activities not only enhance students’ health but also create opportunities for social interaction, friendship, and shared learning in a joyful and dynamic setting.
